Mike Valant brings to VDC extensive general management skills developed across a diverse set of businesses and industries over 30+ years. He possesses significant P&L, sales, marketing, operations, and organizational management expertise.
Mike spent his early years in the advertising business in market research, strategic planning and executive level account management positions in leading Detroit advertising agencies. Employing a data centered decisioning approach, he developed innovative branding and targeting strategies for some of the world’s leading automotive, financial services, packaged goods and consumer durables brands. He managed and grew total account billings in excess of $250 MM and generated more than $100 MM in incremental new revenues for his agencies as he became a key strategic partner to many of his clients.
Switching to the marketing services industry, Mike has held executive level sales, client services and operational roles for leading data and information services companies including Phoenix Group, Harte-Hanks and Acxiom Corporation. In these roles he directly served clients in the automotive, telecommunications, and technology markets and supported teams in virtually all industry verticals. In his most recent assignments at Acxiom, Mike led business operations for the global analytics, product and engineering organizations where he gained valuable experience and perspectives into the world of big data and analytics.
In his role at VDC, Mike is responsible for business development, sales and account management activities with VDC’s large enterprise accounts including Acxiom, IBM, and Ogilvy.
Mike earned a BA in Journalism from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate Business School Program for Management Development.
