Dr. Charles Stryker shared his insights on the state of the information industry with senior leadership of Copyright Clearance Center

Sarasota, FL – February 4, 2015 –Dr. Stryker, Founder and CEO of The Venture Development Center LLC, spoke about the history, current and future state of the information industry with the senior leadership team, and board of directors of the Copyright Clearance Center.

Dr. Stryker discussed “…how we are at a moment in time where ‘Big Data’ will change virtually everything in our personal and professional lives. How we deal with health and wellness. How we reduce crime.” Various types of Big Data were explored: Search, Social, Web mined, crowdsourcing and traditional transactional data. Also, Dr. Stryker provided a cursory glance on the history of Big Data. From its inception – 90% of the world’s data has been created in the last 2 years, to its explosion – today, 5 billion gigabytes of information is collected and stored every few hours.  Dr. Stryker offered that the impact of Big Data on our lives will be similar in magnitude to the impact of the Internet.

New York, NY – February 3, 2015 – Dr. Stryker, Founder and CEO of The Venture Development Center LLC, spoke on the topic of the “anatomy of a good idea”. Based on his seasoned business experience of creating new companies and advising companies in a variety of industries and scope, Dr. Stryker shared his thoughts on what distinguishes a good idea from a bad idea for business success.

Those in attendance were MBA students enrolled in the Introduction to Venturing class. The mission of Introduction to Venturing is to: “expose students to the skills, joys, and frustrations of being an entrepreneur, and for those brave enough, prepare them to start and nurture their own businesses whether they do so immediately or later in their careers.
